Excuse Me Waiter, But There’s Pus In My Milk
June 24, 2012 in Animal Rights, Human Rights
In 1993 the FDA approved a genetically engineered drug created by the Monsanto Corporation called Posilac which contains recombinant bovine somatotropin or rBST. It was created for dairy farmers so they can maximize profits by injecting the hormone into dairy cows forcing them to produce more milk. Sounds good in theory…
Too bad rBST elevates a growth hormone that both humans and cows carry called IGF-1. Numerous studies reveal elevated levels of IGF-1 in the cows milk does not break down in the human digestive system therefore is absorbed into the bloodstream. Why is this bad? Excessive amounts of IGF-1 has been linked to lung, breast, colon, prostate and colorectal cancer.
But lets just say you’re the type of person who isn’t worried about possible cancer afflictions in the future so you’ll still give milk a go each morning with your Frankenberry cereal… cool!
What about the fact that the cows get sicker easier and therefore need more antibiotics like penicillin and amoxicillin. The more frequently they get sick the more antibiotics they need.
Now this process will cause the body to naturally build an immunity to the antibiotics which is in turn passed on to you and your children. Guess what the most commonly used antibiotics are? Amoxicillin and penicillin! So the more milk you drink the more antibiotics you’ll need when sick, to the point it will no longer work.
I bet you won’t care either that rBST causes birth defects in calves, nasty problems with their hooves, diarrhea, heat stress and significantly higher rates of a painful udder condition called mastitis which increases the pus in milk… That’s right I said “increases the pus“! So the FDA has been allowing a certain amount of pus and blood in the milk even prior to Posilac (I love how the product sounds so similar to “positive”). Posilac is so bad that nearly every country in the world, accept for The United States, has banned the use of it.
Now here is the icing on the cake my friends… All of this has been engineered to boost the dairy production by 5-15%. REALLY!? With udders that big I would expect production to be up by 400%!!
I’m truly enjoying the design and layout of your blog. It’s a very easy on the eyes which makes it much more pleasant for me to come here and visit more often. Did you hire out a developer to create your theme? Fantastic work!
not so sure I would call it “fantastic”, but thank you for the compliment!
I have to say that for the past couple of hours i have been hooked by the amazing posts on this website. Keep up the great work.
Thank you very much for swinging through and being so compelled by the content! Looking forward to seeing you around here again
OMG that is so gross!! Just another reason to pick up stakes and move the whole fan-damily to Canada, so you can drink milk again!! lol Seriously though, did you know that studies have been done in China because of the fact that, compared to North America, the Cancer rate there is almost non-existant? One of the main things they established They don’t drink cow’s milk in China!! so no milk=no cancer. Cows milk is for CALVES.It has growth hormones so the cow can grow 450% in it’s first year. Humans do not grow this fast and cannot process this immense amount of growth hormone therefore there is cancer. Scary eh?
L
yes, watch a movie called “Forks Over Knives”. It talks about that study because the doctor is in the movie
