Sauteed Kale Recipe By Bobby Flay

Here is a sauteed kale recipe that will surely please anyone who is in transition from meat to a plant-based diet. Why is kale so wonderful? Here is an excerpt from an article I Zi6 0926 1024x768 Sauteed Kale Recipe By Bobby Flaywas reading at webmd.com. They say it much better than I could have:

Unfortunately for Mr. Flay I changed up his recipe a bit to suit my own tastes so please don’t be angry Bobby, at least I’m letting the world know it was your original idea not mine…

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds kale, stems and leaves coarsely chopped
  • 4 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 5 cloves garlic, finely sliced
  • 3/4 cup water
  • Sea salt & pepper to taste (I use very little)
  • 4 tablespoons red wine vinegar
  • 2 medium sized onions, finely chopped
  • 1/4 pine nuts

Heat olive oil in a large saucepan over medium-high heat. Add the garlic and onion, cook until soft. Raise heat to high, add water, kale and toss. If your wok is as small as mine you may have to cut the recipe in half and cook two batches.  Cover and cook for 5 minutes. Remove lid and continue to cook, stirring until all the liquid has evaporated. Season with sea salt and pepper to taste and add vinegar. I did two different version of this. One with lemon juice and no onion and then one with onion no lemon juice and pine nuts and I liked it better the second time…
